All Change!

16 Sep

I have been a bit quiet lately as I have been busy moving house. Believe me, THE most stressful thing ever. I have not moved very far but have lots more space. Things are slowly starting to get back to normal and I am accepting consultations once again in my new studio.

So, as the seasons are changing, I have had a couple of other little changes too! I now have a new website that includes some extra new virtual services – Capsule Wardrobe and Personallised Pin Board. I am also now a fully trained Advanced Face Yoga Teacher, offering a brand new service which will compliment everything else I already offer, helping you to be the THE BEST YOU – more of this below.

My new website will soon incorporate a “One Stop Style Shop” which will be my accessories store, where you can purchase jewellery, scarves, etc, just in time for Christmas!

So, please take a look and tell me what you think! Click on my new logo below.

So yes, the exciting news is that I am now a fully qualified Face Yoga Teacher! I started practicing the Danielle Collins Method of Face Yoga about 6 months ago and I began to see the results in about 2 weeks. Once you know the correct techniques, your only investment is 20 minutes of your time each day to achieve a more youthful, glowing face. Think about it. We all know that if we want a lean and toned body, we must exercise the muscles. Well, the same is true for the face so why stop at the neck?

The Danielle Collins Face Yoga Method is a simple combination of facial exercises, acupressure and massage, which not only helps to tone and lift the muscles, increase circulation and the production of collagen and elastin, but also gives a feeling of wellbeing and relaxation.

I am offering 90 minute 1 to 1 consultations at my studio for the price of £95. Included in the price is a Danielle Collins wall chart worth £10 to take away with you so you can practice at home. As a special introductory offer, if you book before the end of October, you will receive a Danielle Collins Pro Lift Facial Moisturising Serum worth £27.99.

Autumn/Winter 2013 trends for Silver Ladies

10 Sep
Autumn/Winter 2013 trends

Are you a Silver Lady? Does your hair have ash tones to it or do you have platinum or silver hair? This is for YOU!

Silver Ladies are in for a treat this Autumn/Winter as one of the hottest trends around is going to look fab on you. If you have been shopping lately you will have noticed that pink is everywhere, from baby pink through to fuschia this season is all about pink. Silver Ladies should choose a hot pink like this gorgeously soft and cosy mohair jumper and team it with black for a real statement look.

I have teamed the sweater with these super flattering leather look (another key trend this year) jeans from Mary Portas. The high waist means they really hold in your tummy and the stretch in the legs creates a really sleek look. The comfy but stylish chelsea boots add some edge.

The nifty bag from Boticca is buttery soft and can be worn in several different ways. It can be worn casually as shown, but it also cleverly transforms into a clutch bag for evening! Magic!

I have finished the look with the Stella and Dot Sutton necklace, which nods to the Punk trend this season. The Sutton is also extremely versatile as it can be worn at least 5 different ways so great value for money.

Keep your make-up “Cool” – why not choose Colour Me Beautiful “Ruby” lipstick for a touch of sophistication.

The eyes have it!

25 Oct

Last Autumn/Winter, eyes were very neutral, but this year we are celebrating colour! Eyes are bold and dramatic. Choose your look from smokey or metallic. Don’t be shy with your eyeshadows this season, it’s all about getting good colour onto your lids and applying it well. The most current way to apply your eyeshadow is to colour block it and wing it further up to the eyebrow – not for the faint hearted! Also popular this Autumn/Winter, as seen on the Roberto Cavalli catwalk is the daringly dramatic “Peacock Eye”. This incorporates vibrant shades of teal, emerald green and purple. The results are truly stunning!

Colour Me Beautiful has some fabulous colours that can be applied alone or for more depth, you can mix them with water for a more intense effect. Hot colour trends right now are bright blues, neon oranges, daring purples and metallic greens.  Orange really makes a blue eye pop, while purple is fantastic for brown eyes. If you are used to traditional greys and browns, try something different like Golden Honey or Melon if you have a warm undertone to your skin or Midnight for a cool undertone. Does the thought of a full on bright eyeshadow scare you a bit? Then choose a new eye pencil. For warm undertones a lovely bright Teal will do the trick, or if you have a cool undertone, Amethyst looks amazing.

If you’re not confident with colour or feel it’s too ‘young’ a look for you, you can give the same impression by carefully layering the current colours in your palette. Start by using a highlighter shade all over the lid, then an eye-pencil followed by an accent colour and finally a blending shade. Use an eye-make up brush to blend the colours together for a polished look.

Remember to keep your lips more neutral and possibly matt if you are going for a dramatic eye.

An easy way to update your look is with a couple of new eyeshadows and a lipstick. Do you need some help to achieve a current make-up look? Have you thought of booking a Colour Me Beautiful make-up lesson? To purchase Colour Me Beautiful make-up or to book a Make-up Lesson, contact me for further details.

Nauticoco detachable peplum belts

11 Sep

Ladies, I just found this fantastic website called Nauticoco and just had to share it with you!

We are all probably familiar with the peplum trend. It was first introduced in the 1940s and had a revival in the 1980s. We saw the peplum last year, and it was all over the Autumn/Winter 2012 catwalks so it looks like a trend that is here to stay.

These cute little detachable peplum belts really are a chic and sexy way to update your look this Autumn/Winter. They come in 12 colour ways and they are reversible, so lots of choice! I personally will be investing in the bubble silk gold/taupe one and the orange one. The price point is also very accessible so if you don’t want to invest in a new dress this season, give last season’s dress some va va voom!

A peplum is a great way to create the illusion of a waist for those with a boyish shape and fantastic for balancing out the inverted triangle body shape. It creates a beautiful feminine shape and instantly makes the waist look smaller.

Ladies with a triangle or pear shape would be best advised to avoid this trend as it will only make your hips appear larger. Similarly, it is not a flattering shape for apples or rounds.

Style your peplum with your favourite LBD or try it with a patterned pencil skirt and a plain top. Add some colour pop heels and some lady like Stella & Dot jewellery like this Astor 5 strand bib and you are all set! You can even wear your peplum over trousers for ultimate modern day time glamour. So ladies, which one will you choose?
