Here comes the sun!

Orange, lemon and lime shades are a Summer feature on the High Street and they are perfect for zesting up your Summer wardrobe this season.

You will find varying shades in-between such as Primrose, Daffodil, Light Gold, Tangerine, Pumpkin, Bittersweet, Orange Red and Coral.

How to wear these successfully requires a little know-how and even a little va-va-va voom personality!

Celebs are embracing this trend and even Victoria Beckham stepped out in yellow this week. She was pictured wearing a yellow kimono style sleeveless coat from her own Autumn Winter 2013 collection. She teamed it with a white shirt, powder blue trousers, nude heels and, of course, her famous gigantic sunglasses.

If you are a redhead like me, these shades are just perfect – a welcome relief after a Winter filled with burgundies, plums and wines which are a complete no-no. This look is one of my favourite outfits to wear this Summer. I love to combine opposite colours so pairing yellow with turquoise is a really fun way to stay on trend! The dress is from Zara and is currently in the sale. The turquoise jewellery is from Stella and Dot. I have teamed it with my favourite Vivienne Westwood shoes and my gold Mulberry purse.

There are various ways to wear your citrus shades this season, for example, Louis Vuitton mixed it with white this season to great success.

If you have silver or platinum hair colour, like Dame Judy Dench or Helen Mirren, steer clear of yellow and orange all over. If you simply love these colours, you are best to inject them into a print mixed with some blues and pinks, or in an accessory, away from your face. Choose a statement ladylike bag or maybe a pair of fabulous shoes. You could add a friendship bracelet in these current colours to show you know what is on trend.

Another great idea is to choose a printed scarf with a little of the no-no colours in it and tie it around the handle of your bag.

Don’t forget that your personality comes into it when wearing brighter colours. I love to wear yellow but if you don’t want to stand out in a crowd too much, you are better off wearing these citrus colours in a print.

One thing is for sure, wearing yellows and oranges will definitely brighten your day, making you feel summery and renewed!
