The Future is Orange!

Finally, some gorgeous sunshine and I can dig in to my Summer clothes at last!

I don’t know if you have noticed but the shops are full of bright orange right now which is great for me as a redhead as it really suits my colouring. A welcome relief from Autumn/Winter when everything was Wine, Plum, Burgundy. Colours that do me no favours at all.

From delicious tangerine to terracotta and pumpkin, and from carrot shades to amber and honey, one of the biggest Spring 2013 colour trends puts the energetic orange center stage, and in all honesty nothing reads Spring and Summer better than a powerful and fearless colour.

The colour orange radiates warmth and happiness, combining the physical energy and stimulation of red with the cheerfulness of yellow.

Orange brings spontaneity and a positive outlook on life and is a great colour to use during tough economic times, keeping us motivated and helping us to look on the bright side of life.

With its enthusiasm for life, the colour orange relates to adventure and risk-taking, inspiring physical confidence, competition and independence. Those inspired by orange are always on the go!

In relation to the meaning of colours, orange is extroverted and uninhibited, often encouraging exhibitionism or, at the very least, showing-off! Not a colour for a shy, retiring type then!

Orange is a warm and inviting colour, it is both physically and mentally stimulating, so it gets people thinking and talking!

I bought these cute little shorts from Zara AGES ago and thought they would never see the light of day. They are a very flattering cut and I love orange and navy as a colour combination. I have teamed them with a Zara top, some navy Primark wedges (last year), a gold Mulberry mini bag (Ebay find) and one of my favourite statement necklaces from Stella and Dot the Bahari.

Sunshine come and get me!
