Gusto’s 4th annual Fashion Show in aid of Francis House Children’s Hospice.

I recently attended the 4th annual Gusto Fashion Show, which has become something of an institution now in Didsbury. The Fashion Show is held to raise money for Francis House Children’s Hospice.

It is always a great opportunity to meet friends, have a lovely meal and catch up on this season’s fashion trends. This year, there were three themes – Glamping, Nautical and Britannia, to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Steranko pulled all the stops out as usual and the outfits were amazing. John Yates did a fantastic job with the models’ hair and they all looked super. Here are two of my favourite outfits – I loved the Darling floral playsuit, teamed with the Darling parka, together with a pop of hot pink in the Hunter Wellies – a festival must have. The second outfit really rocks this season’s colour blocking trend and I thought the dress was a very flattering shape. All the clothing on display can be purchased from Steranko in West Didsbury.

Many local businesses kindly donated prizes for the raffle and, this year I donated a Colour Consultation. Hilton, the DJ, won my prize which was quite funny as he certainly doesn’t need any style advice from me!

An incredible total of £1700 was raised for Francis House Hospice!

Hilton gifted the prize to his Mother In Law, Lynda, who came to visit me last weekend. She actually said that she didn’t know what she could learn about colour and was truly amazed at what she learned!
